Common Symptoms

Potential Causes

These symptoms are indicative of common heel pain conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles Tendonitis.

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis is characterised by pain and inflammation in the thick band of tissue (the plantar fascia) that runs along the bottom of the foot, connecting the heel to the toes. The condition typically causes sharp heel pain, especially first thing in the morning or after prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Plantar Fasciitis is often caused by overuse, improper footwear or excessive pressure on the feet especially those who spend a lot of time on their feet.

Achilles Tendonitis

Achilles Tendonitis is an overuse injury that causes inflammation of the Achilles tendon – the thick band of tissue that connects your calf muscles to your heel bone. It often results from repetitive stress, typically in runners or people who suddenly increase the intensity or duration of their activity.

Our dedicated Podiatrists are committed to providing comprehensive care, ensuring accurate diagnosis, effective treatment options and preventative advice to help you manage and alleviate heel pain.
